Will my child learn bad behaviour at the school?

All pupils at Maypole with have some form of social, emotional and / or mental health difficulties, normally with other underlying complex needs. So it is no surprise that many of our pupils will have displayed some form of behavioural difficulties at their previous schools.

This was often because they were in the wrong environment for them, which meant that the previous school was unable to meet their needs.

But at Maypole we can offer many different environments, and each child will be with other pupils who have compatible needs. So Maypole is a school where children’s behaviour will improve, and in many cases will be transformed for the better.

"His behaviour is so much better, He's got friends, routines, he's just learning so much. The fight (to get him to this school) was worth it … I'm glad he is where he is today".

"What a great school, great kids, lovely staff. I had a horrible morning before my visit, and they cheered me up and put a smile on my face".

"Leaders are so much more supportive at Maypole than any other setting I've worked in before. I'm given opportunities to develop in a professional and personal sense, and I feel listened to."
